Description
Poseidon-708 Dual Mono Power Amplifier
The Poseidon-708 horizontal mono/stereo power amplifier
If you think good sound doesn’t need a good appearance, you’re wrong.
When you see the machine, the first thing that catches your eye is the front panel. Besides a display window, there are no other unnecessary buttons, and the sleek design allows for touch-based interaction. The high-quality metalworking craftsmanship is evident throughout the design, a complete transformation compared to earlier models.
Our designers have truly showcased their expertise, spending ten years crafting a brand-new series of models with a stunning appearance. The exquisite design is pleasing to the eye and uplifting. Combined with high-power output, it can conquer even the most demanding speakers, delivering beautiful sound that will surely impress even the most discerning ears.
The entire chassis design breaks with previous approaches, using very thick aerospace-grade aluminum alloy plates, with a minimalist design that minimizes the appearance of unnecessary screws. Everyone knows that thicker sheet metal significantly reduces vibration transmission through the chassis, a highly specialized design feature in high-end audio equipment. This ensures the chassis’s stability and shock resistance, resulting in a truly minimalist and elegant appearance. Coupled with a rich array of multi-functional interfaces, it can satisfy the needs of most audiophiles.
The 708 unit uses a 7-inch capacitive LCD touchscreen. This is a feature many brands lack, partly due to increased cost and the need for a specific size.
A single screen can handle all functions and displays, making it very intuitive. The interface automatically switches to a digital audio pointer when not in use, with the pointer moving in sync with the music. The screen’s background color, brightness, and volume are all adjustable, making it very user-friendly.
When you need high power, you can use two Poseidon-708 amplifiers to form a mono dual-mono power amplifier. In this setup, the amplifier will definitely meet your power requirements.
It boasts a mono balanced output power of 800 watts/8Ω, which doubles to a staggering 1400 watts when the impedance drops to 4Ω, and even more at 2Ω, doubling to 2600 watts. A single unit’s standby power consumption reaches 270 watts, making it an absolute power-guzzling behemoth.
Furthermore, it can be used alone as a stereo output. This dual-mono/single configuration is a feature typically found only in high-end models from various brands. The 708 power amplifier also features an independent volume control system, adjustable from 0-99dB for easy electronic crossover setups.
The Poseidon-708 employs a fully balanced circuit, with an amplifier board mounted on the heatsinks of each channel’s upper, lower, left, and right sides. The power supply is divided into two parts, with independent power supply and filtering.
Two independent 1200-watt toroidal transformers provide separate power to the cold-end and hot-end amplifiers. Each power transformer is housed in an independent transformer enclosure and features a precision mechanical vibration damping system to minimize vibrations generated during operation.
This isolates the power supply circuitry from the sensitive audio amplification circuitry, preventing mutual interference.
An additional 7VA digital power supply is used to power the power-on logic circuitry.
