The moment you remove the top cover of the RG4 MK5, the first thing you notice is the massive stainless-steel transformer enclosure. At first glance, it appears to house a single oversized transformer. In reality, this elegant enclosure conceals a far more sophisticated dual-mono power supply design.

 

Each channel is powered by its own custom-built **550W  “Porcupine” toroidal transformer**, an upgrade over the previous MK4 version. While the additional 50 watts per channel may seem modest on paper, it delivers noticeably greater bass authority, improved transient impact, and superior speaker control.

 

Both transformers are fully encapsulated inside specially engineered stainless-steel magnetic shielding, virtually eliminating magnetic leakage while providing an ultra-low-noise power supply with exceptional electrical purity.
